ISU > "Dubby" HOLT DISPLAY.
When this project came to be I was thrilled! Located right inside the Main Entry directly in front of the ticket booth in a high-traffic area.
But this building was built in 1970. Who knows what the wall is made of, and what needs to be moved around to accommodate the intended design.
As a Design Engineer figuring this out, as well as breaking up the design into real world material sizes, is my job so before I go too deep into the Development Phase, a site survey is a MUST. We need to know the Where and the What, to then figure out the best How.
We also need measurements to create an accurate 3D model of the wall - a digital twin - to engineer the display around. It doesn't have to be pretty as long as you can decipher it.

And then if you're really cool. You can use this tool called Vectary which allows you to not only create a 3D viewer of your design but you can also generate an AR model and place them in the real using your phone camera.
